Brand new Mikuni Carburetor seems to be blocked?
I bought a new mikuni 26mm round-slide carburetor for my bike and after installing it the bike would not even fire for a second. i took out the plug and no fuel seems to be making it through to the cylinder. is it possible the carburetor was clogged from the factory? is there a screw that if turned inn all the way would inhibit fuel flow to the point theb bike wouldnt even sputter? any info will be appreciated, thanks.
Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
2 & 4 stroke engines can have similar problems, requiring different repair procedures.
Highly unlikely a new carburetor would have any blockage.
Open the float bowl drain screw to see if the carb is getting fuel.
Check the cylinder compression - low compression won't create enough vacuum to suck the fuel into the engine.
