RC Toys of Glow Powered Ducted Fan Engine
One of the most coveted hobbies of today is flying RC toy airplanes. During weekends or holidays, you can certainly see a lot of people in parks, or on open fields, playing with different flying machines.
Their machines come in different types and sizes. Some are propeller driven airplanes while others may be helicopters. A number of them may have flying machines that run on rechargeable batteries while the rest are gas powered. There is a particular aircraft, however, that is rising in popularity and this is the glow powered ducted fan driven RC toy airplane.
This particular engine is a type of jet propulsion system that is powered by, either a two-stroke, or four-stroke, combustion engine. The basic principle behind its operation is similar to that of an electronic ducted fan, albeit, in little ways since there is really a big difference between the two and that is the fact that glow powered ducted fan engines are driven by gas combustion mechanisms.
The main drive for turning the ducted fan is obviously, the RC toy glow engine. These are special types of mini combustion engines, which, when used in conjunction with a tuned pipe and fan unit, becomes a powerful jet propulsion system.
RC toy Glow engines are just like miniature versions of common combustion engines. It has a piston and a sleeve that form an airtight seal necessary for the engine to produce compression.
They use glow plugs to ignite the fuel being pumped into the combustion chamber. This produces the series of rapid explosions similar to a car engine that is then used to produce compressed air which then pushes the piston to turn the camshaft, thereby giving your glow powered ducted fan maximum RPM.
The tuned pipe, on the other hand, basically works as a power booster to your engine. It forces the unused fuel found at the exhaust back into the engine to give it an extra kick of power. The sound wave produced by the engine consisted of low and high pressure pulses.
As it bounces back from the tuned pipe to come back to the engine, it brings with it some amounts of fuel and air mixture that was earlier expelled by the engine.
Once it pushes back into the engine before the exhaust port is closed, it creates a type of supercharged booster that gives extra power to the engine. This enables the engine to add more revolutions to its already high speed ducted fans, giving the RC toy airplane more power.
Glow powered ducted fan engines found in most RC toy jet planes will give you all the engine power you need in order for it to rise high up in the sky. Though these types of engines require a little bit of learning with regards to glow and ducted fan engines, it will be definitely an effort that is worth your while.
