Learn How To Skateboard Today
Skateboarding started off as a somewhat obsolete sport but has now become one of the most popular sports in the world. No longer thought of nothing more than a fun hobby, skateboarding is now considered as being a legit sport and there are professional athletes who make their living off skating. Anyone who's interested in getting started in the sport is going to need to take the time to learn how to skateboard. Anyone can get started in the sport, learn how to skateboard and become a skilled skater, if they learn a few basic moves.
When getting started learning how to skateboard, the only equipment you really need is a board and helmet. As long as you have a board and a helmet for safety reasons you can get started. For beginners it's best to practice the Ollie at first without the board moving. Usually however Ollies are used more when the board is moving and in combinations with other trick moves.
Once you are comfortable with the position, stay still and push down with your back foot so that all weight of your body is on the tail this is how you will begin the ollie. Next, try the same thing while in motion and you will find that the more force there is on the tail of the board, the more it seems to want to keep on moving this is the force you need to execute an ollie.
The Manual is another very basic trick and one that any person learning how to skateboard should work on. This is a trick that lifts the front wheels of the board up and has you balancing on two wheels while moving. To start you need to get the board going at a relatively quick speed. You need to push the board to get it moving at a reasonably quick speed then put one foot on the tail and the other in the middle of the board, Ollie onto the object, and land on your back wheels keeping most of your weight near the back end of the board.
As you get more comfortable with this you can build up your speed and the heights to which you can jump. The Secrets Of Skateboarding is how to do an ollie on a skateboard lies in remembering that there are three actions that have to be done at the same time pressing the tail down, jumping up and drawing the front knee to the chest. Timing is everything and all these three actions have to be done at the same time.

Op-Ed: Pocket God’s Dave Castelnuevo on the “Arkham Spring” of digital (THE BEAT)
by **Dave Castelnuovo**-- Just like the Arab spring that changed much of the
Middle East, It seems like Arkham spring is upon us and will soon change the
comics industry. Tensions are finally coming to a head as the comic industry
continues to transition to the digital era. Creators are starting to speak out
more about their potential opportunities in digital and are questioning why
the industry is holding onto old practices that are preventing their comic
from being accepted by more people. A good example of this comes from writer
and illustrator Brian Wood in his blog post “The Digital Question Mark”. In it
I think he presents a solid case as to why this dance between publishers and
retailers is screwing up opportunities to give his book the best possible
chance of success. It doesn’t matter whether the industry will eventually get
to cheaper digital content in the next couple years, his book will be canceled
unless readers buy it today. He has a good plan for making this happen but
politics are getting in the way.
