Lego 8547 - Is It Educational Toy For Your Kids ?
Lego Mindstorm 8547 is an exceptional educational toys, now with new models and programming adapted to the new technology.Lego 8547 combines the versatility of Lego bricks to build a system of micro and intuitive programming software, this construction kit you can build a robot to see, speak, feel and move.Lego Mindstorms NXT 8547 is not a clean game. This is a work, dedication and practice - all of which are important skills for a spirit of child development and growth. With Lego robotics, the upside potential for continued learning and advanced capabilities are immense. Of course, like all Lego products, there are significant costs involved - especially if you want to extend your robot with additional sensors and mechanical arms, wheels, gears, etc.. I hope that Lego would offer kits that have specific plans, models, etc.. with the necessary spare parts. This would make easier the second stage, instead of waiting for a child's most experienced master all the skills at once. Bottom line - I would recommend this toy/learning product very highly. Just be ready to help your child to a mass. It takes a concerted effort by the child and parents together.
I first met MINDSTORMS series in 2001 when I bought the Robotics Invention System 1.5 of curiosity. Since I bought and used many games MINDSTORMS, written two books MINDSTORMS, developed and taught a course in Lego robotics, and gave presentations LEGO. So when I heard that LEGO was releasing the NXT 2.0 fixed in the summer / fall 2009, I was curious about how to improve its flagship LEGO. After finally getting my hands on a 2.0 set, I've been busy building, programming, and analyzing the kit's features. And I think Mindstorms 8547 is the best MINDSTORMS set to date.
The NXT original set published in 2006 (I call it "1.0 Set ") was a huge success, but there are still gaps. The NXT 2.0 set addresses some of these gaps, and in fact all a.0 kits were. From robotics kits, the NXT 2.0 set includes mainly the construction and programming, so I'll take a look at how the game takes place in each of these areas.
First, the building experience is fun and challenging while offering some exciting new additions. For the electronic elements, the NXT microcomputer and servo motors remain the same in both design and quantity; however, the selection of sensors has changed. There are now two touch sensors, an ultrasonic (distance) sensor and color sensor. The color sensor provides three new features. It can detect colors (6 basic colors) to measure light intensity, and serve as a lamp (light emitting red, blue or green). Contrary to.Set to 0, no light sensor or sound sensor: a new color sensor can act as a light sensor, and LEGO evidently thought that the two touch sensors would be more useful than having a sensor one-touch and a sound sensor to 1.0 set. I agree.
The building elements are, once again, studless LEGO TECHINC pieces rather than traditional bricks. The 1.0 set included a few TECHNIC bricks, but these are gone in the 2.0 set, which focuses entirely on studless construction. Overall, there is still a good selection of beams, pegs, and axles (including a new #9 length axle) as well as the addition of two small rubber bands. Also fun is the archery equipment with special ball 12 small colored balls.
There are only a few gears included, though. Whereas a.0 set includes quite a good variety and quantity of material, the 2.0 set includes only a handful of double bevel gears and a single 12t bevel gear. This is a bit disappointing but also understandable. People like to add many robots of their job to make them cool, but a large amount of equipment to be of much friction. The 2.0 robot kit sample drawings to show how to combine the pieces directly to the engines, rather than using gears transmits motion. It works well and takes some getting used to, but still encourage new users to expand their team of LEGO collection after the purchase of 2.0 set.
As for the programming, the 2.0-accompanied version of NXT-G software offers some good new features. A remote control, sound editor, image editor, new programming blocks, improved performance, and other features make programming a more enjoyable experience. The performance is significantly better than 1.0 version, but may still sluggish.
The software includes a number of fun challenges spread across four robot designs: Shooterbot, Robogator, Color Sorter, and Alpha Rex. Robots of the sample are durable and work well, although some instructions for the use of color Trier was a bit confusing. The new version of Alpha-Rex is a truly fascinating robot: in addition to being a fun "advanced" model to build, new users can learn a lot from its incredibly compact and elegant design.
The NXT 2.0 is leading the series in the right direction MINDSTORMS. I like what I see in this series, and I think that LEGO is a winner in his hands. The 2.0 is more expensive than a.0 sets - with $ 30 - but I think improvements and additional features outweigh the additional costs. In sum, the NXT 2.0 set is a great toolset for any robotics enthusiast and a must-have for MINDSTORMS fans.
Official: 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 delivers 650 HP and 200 MPH straight from the factory (Autoblog)
Filed under: LA Auto Show, Coupe, Performance, Ford
650 horsepower. 600 pound-feet of torque. 200-plus miles per hour. With specs
like these, you don't need long-form introductions. This is the 2013 Ford
Shelby GT500, and all we can say is, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has officially
been put on notice.
The heart of the new Ford stunner is a 5.8-liter, aluminum-block V8, complete
with a larger, more efficient supercharger. Nearly the entire powertrain has
been upgraded for 2013, including a new cross-drilled block and heads, updated
camshaft profiles, a carbon fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, transmission
and axle. The cooling system has also been upgraded, and the new six-speed
manual transmission now has a final drive ratio of 3.31-to-1 - optimized to
handle the massive amounts of torque put down by the new engine.
Further enhancements can be had in the GT500 Performance Pack, which
incorporates SVT-designed Blistein electronic adjustable dampers with 'normal'
and 'sport' modes and a Torsen limited-slip differential. What's more, the
Track Package adds an external engine oil cooler, rear differential cooler and
transmission cooler. Like the current GT500, 19-inch wheels are standard up
front (20-inch rollers are found out back) and a Brembo ...
