Battery Water Is The Solution To Your Vehicle Maintenance Problems
Good car batteries could provide your car the support it needs but occasionally that goodness doesn’t last long enough. Malfunction of cars to start is a result of faulty batteries and for a few strange logic these failures seem to take place on rush hours. One technique to avoid this trouble is to constantly examine the level of your battery water.
Be cautious when checking the fluid level, particularly if you need to take away the battery caps. Keep in mind that the car batteries contain sulfuric acid, a powerful acid that blisters the skin upon touching. In this case, maintain water supply handy when you are checking battery condition. Also as a precaution, you must wear safety glasses. While the buildup of oxygen and hydrogen gas inside lead-acid batteries is a risk not to be ignored, it is definitely advised not to smoke while making the inspection.
As what any automotive mechanic does, you can use your fingers or a screwdriver (depending on the design of the cap) to dismount battery cap. As soon as the cap is taken off, you can look down to get a view of the fluid quantity. If there is a fluid level indicator, you can check the actual level of the water. Shaking or tipping the battery gently helps you see where the level is. If the level has gone low, adding vehicle water brings back the fluid content to correct levels. Be careful when spilling in water because you cannot pour in simply whichever type of water. Tap water is not appropriate for this function. Since fluid batteries are susceptible to the ionic substance as these fluids are electrolytic by quality, it is best to make use of distilled or DI water, which contains really low, insignificant ion substance. The relatively high ion dilution of tap water alters the ion equilibrium inside the battery.
It is recommended to reload consumed battery fluid and to inspect it every three months if your battery is new. I feel kinda stupid to be asking this, but I just bought a rampant rabbit heart throb and I cannot open the battery compartment at all! help meeee.
it has like a button on the bottom and you press it and I assume it's supposed to slide out or something but it just won't open and it's driving me mad!
is it the one with a twist cap or a slide down battery pack? If its a twist cap some can be on there pretty tight and you really gotta twist it hard. I would call the store or consultant that you purchased it from and ask them how to open it.
