Sean’s ability to perform at the high levels of the ASA Late model division
is enhanced by his mechanical engineering background and race engineering
skills such as data acquisition/analysis, chassis set-up methodologies and
race performance tuning techniques. Sean’s educational background comes from
the University of Illinois (UIC) Chicago where he completed his Bachelor’s
Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2001 and was on the Dean’s List in the
same year.
At UIC, Sean was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and
participated in an inter-collegiate Ethanol Vehicle Challenge that was
sponsored by General Motors. His team from UIC placed 5th out of 16th
against competing North American colleges and Sean got his first experience
in data acquisition technology pertaining to maximizing a vehicle’s fuel
economy.
